How about if Captains send a report to the league after 2-3 games to the league admin. This report could include which teams belong in what division. This report could “assist” league admin’s final decision.

how about automatic Promotion and relegation (at season mid point) for the first and last place teams respectively in every division?

Is that now how it is now? If not for Indoor, then yeah, I like that idea.

it can only be done if you have 2 consenting teams in different division (ie. team "A" wants up need team "B" to want down).

automatic on the other hand "forces" ballance as the strongest and weakest are removed.

Whichever teams win the league/BAS CUP/Playoffs should be placed into higher divisions.

If the teams are struggling, then the league admin can do automatic Promotion/relegation in order to balance the league.

+ review captains reports on the teams that they are playing against in their division, to sort of what division the teams belong in.

Remember boys, we are trying to make the league better. Games played and close games are fun… 4-3 1-0 etc vs. 10-0, 12-0

Come on guys!

Look at it from the other side before you raise stink. Being in Division 2 for some time I have seen this part of the league get better and better each and every year. My winter 2007 team (I believe that was the year we won it) is by far a weaker team than the one I'm constructing this year. Will I win the division??? I'll say no.
You can only guess what everyone else is doing - chances are, with each passing season your competition is bulking up just as much, maybe even more than you.
There is also something to be said about kicking the living snot out of the teams in your division before you move up. That way you ensure success in the next division. Last season, SPURS decided to make the jump from D2A indoor going to D1 indoor. We got killed - which was not fun, and I lost a couple of guys because of that - Lesson learned.

I can go on and on about this topic - things like team dynamics / player characteristics etc, etc... but don't want to type any more...

Your Winter 2007 team had me on it Wink enough said!!!

Even I was on that squad lol

Auto Promo has always been the plan for year-over-year especially, but you've read some of the "pleadings" above looking for consideration.

It sucks. Lol there can’t be a simple solution.
In the end league admin will always get butchered.

Perhaps tweaking the rules & regulations? So league admin has more saying.

if teams are coming off destruction of weaker teams 10-0, 12-0 etc.. they should be moved to a group with teams that can give them a challenge.

If teams are getting destroyed, league admin should send them a friendly warning, if the league is too competitive; I have to find you a suitable easier division to play on in order to keep soccer fun for beginners and experienced players.

Teams that win the cup deserve promotion? Soooo if Kipling win the next game, then beat Punjab who have 8 players out, then beat Copenhagen who have 8 players out, they deserve promotion?? When really they can't beat any of these sides when they are fully equipped. Playoff winners are also subject to being fortunate against teams that are short staffed also on a weekend where it was more than evident.
Captains reports are again subjective, I could say a lot about all the teams, then the captain on Copenhagen could have a completely different approach depending on his philosophy of football.

Anyway, admin knows what he is doing, and it is very, very difficult for him with everyone shouting out what they want. (Although he is always open to suggestion and does appreciate it). Automatic promotion works if the squad remains/improves, automatic relegation works if the squad remains/even weakens. Remember that this is recreational soccer and people have friends from all walks of football that may join their team for a good ol' Sunday kick about that play a high calibur of football elsewhere and then teams are shocked when they see that this team was demoted from the season prior.
It is technically 'recreational soccer' and not competitive meaning teams have the right to request their own division as long as the option is available and admin doesn't recognize that the squad entering does not fit the level. I.E. Thames trying go get into 2C so Burns Jr can finally try for that 100 goal season.

Mid season realignment is good for that season only as the teams are set in stone due to the fact the signing deadline passes. As for the following seasons.... well, you see in my last paragraph the difficulty in allocating fairly.
It comes down to the team putting an honest perspective on where they believe their team will enjoy their summer of football the most, while being able to compete on an 'even playing field'. Also, where admin has spots left in his league if you are a slow poke in getting your team in. Wink

Alright that's enough, keep up the good work admin, I know that it is extremely difficult to keep the crowd happy.

that kid wearing #10 is reason 1 for spurs success - you cant knock him off the ball and he can do it to anyone.

Spurs are now in negotiations with the BAS for a grand return. Obviously security, television rights as well player access through the many toronto sports media still needs to be worked out, but thought you all should be "the first to know"...
