Is Brampton Chrysler still going to be fielding professional players? If so, is the league going to do anything about it?

First, we'll see what the roster looks like before we decide on how to proceed.

It's on "the list"...

I wouldn't really peg Admin as a 'pro'...... maybe in like a league in the Phillipines or something he'd be a "[BAS] Beckham" but not here in Brampton.

Very serious matter actually, seen as how it is brought to the attention prior to season starting you can stop the player before he makes a 'misake'. Smile

putting even one pro on a 35+ rec team is total vanity.

Many of the 35+ guys have families and kids and get that one break on sunday mornings to have some run - the last thing they need is a demoralaizing loss to a team containing a pro or two who works out and plays all the time.

whats the point of that?

Have some stones and at least play competative Wink

One player does not make the difference you people are suggesting. Seems as though people are indicating this player is the Pele of Brampton and the new face of BAS.

You can honestly defend any player in BAS with simple marking. Just eliminate the space. Soccer Basics 101.

If soccer is that demoralizing for some I'd hate to see the clam shell of a world they live in.

I totally disagree for 5 aside. If you have one pro striker and you feed him all game long he will be the difference maker. Outdoor is a different kettle of fish - but I am talking about indoor.

35+ players have their families watching - a child who has their parent on some heroic pedestal and then watches them get throttled and or taunted by a superior player is traumatized for life... seriously!! studies show that they are 25% less likely to get a prom date after witnessing such a happenstance.

I am convinced the reason there is more violent conflict in the MASTER league (despite the elderly types having a calmer temperament) is because guys have more pride playing in front of their families. The most violent match I have seen in some time was last year with Brampton Chrysler and Ultras - Head butts / Punches / Elbows / knees / nunchucks / Blood everywhere - I mean everywhere - ... sent a chill down my spine ... and I was wearing a very warm sweater Razz

have a kid, get a beer belly, turn 40 and play against a pro with your kid watching then you may post your opinion - until then you are talking out of your @55 on such things.

"Soccer is ninety percent mental and the other half is physical."

Your quote says it right there. Physical attributes mean absolutly nothing in this league. If you have the mentality that you can play up to the par of the primadonnas, then anything is possible.

I do strongly agree with you about the violent conduct of this league. Nobody joins up to have a kamikaze opponent take a run at them and threaten their livlihood outside of soccer. I think that having a fight over a soccer game is just ridiculous (though 4 year ago me would disagree) and I believe people mature past it in stages. I don't have to have my own child watch my games to know how to represent myself, in fact I'd be more inclined to feel the unjust of having my girlfriend, teammates, teammates girlfriends, families, Admin, Admin's kids or any other body at the venue pass judgement on how I carry myself.... but then again some of us have class amongst smaller isssues.

I would only assume and I use these words with great choice in hope, that a player of such high caliber who may change the game would have enough discipline to not run up a score, not make a mockery of individuals and would carry themself with dignity and discipline. I would actually challenge the individual to do so as the game would probably be more interesting to them if done so. A player who is so talented as this 'pro' player is, I would imagine they'd be wasting their own money playing in a league of such lacklustre talent (by comparison to their prior career) rather than you wasting your money.

Nonetheless, I hope you still enjoy your indoor season, there are still 8 other teams aside from yours and the pro's you can have great games against. Bring the kids to those, the pro really didn't deserve the admiration anyway compared the admiration they have for 'Dad'. Wink

This "pro" player or players (actually the whole team) do not have the discipline or class of the children watching the games. This one player does make a difference and the game last year when the fight broke out was because this guy did not show and the team was put to test for the very first time and had to resort to dirty play in order to ensure victory.
Rules are rules, stick by them or stay home.
I have a feeling that if this team is not allowed to field these type of players, they will not play any longer, which would be a great thing for BAS.

ok... since ppl are registering late.. what if they are doing it for having "pro's" on their team?
so league has no chance to review all the team's roster.

i am pretty sure league will catch random pro's on teams. lol
... what happen to that pro that everyone was hyping? Richard West?

Richard West is not a professional player, per registration that is, he is just an excellent valuable striker whose singing apparently fell through.

Still would like to know the team that signed him. Laughing
