On a throw in, can a player take the throw from his/her knees? Both feet are on the ground and the arms and ball still go behind the head of the player. I've done this before and have not gotten called for it. However, some have.

Item 7 of Law 15 in the FIFA publication "The Laws of the Game: Questions and Answers 2006", page 42, clearly states:

Is a player allowed to take a throw-in kneeling or sitting down?

No. A throw-in is only permitted if the correct procedures in the Laws
of the Game are followed.

PDF version of said publication can be found here:

I would also question as to why anyone would want to take a throw-in from their knees?
Shocked

Did he also play in high-heels?

Yes baby blue Very Happy

The reason for a throw in from the knees, it allows the ball to be entered at a lower height, so the ball will go directly to the players feet instead of chesting it down which takes more time to control if a defending playing is on them. Just my reasoning.

Of course it is ok, as long as you don't rest on your knees.
You are more than allowed to squat, I have seen that in MANY professional games (not TFC) and they have NOT been penalized. I myself just started doing it this summer.
As long as you remain on your feet and not on your knees, what can they say, no squatting?!?!?!?!

I'm afraid that I might just see that as you trying to circumvent the spirit of the law, and that will cost you a yellow card. Shocked

Ya, sorta like flicking the ball from your foot up to your head and then heading that ball back to your keeper.

I used to look at people that did the throw in the way I did and think the same thing!
'That guy looks daft'
But, after trying it, it turns out to be very useful in under pressure or advantageous situations. Wink
