It should no longer be a league issue. With the new registration system the OSA is using, "unregisterable" players attempting to register would be flagged in the system. For example, if a guy is on a 6 month suspension for spitting at a game official and tries to register, it would be caught just like you can't renew your driver's license if you have a parking ticket.

The "splitting" is coming...just need 2 more teams. Splitting a group of 8 is kinda dinky and splitting 10 creates other problems.

Oh my goodness, a competitive +35? lol What the hell is going on, nobody can let their passion for the game go, they just remain competitive.

I think it would be more of a Rec A and Rec B scenario. Let's not get ahead of ourselves. We need 12 teams first.

pro's vs joe's |

Holy crap why are we still talking about this for any team that does not want to play another team because they have a so called pros on there roster ( which I must say he is a great guy and by no meens does he showboat his skills ) do not play them simple , I enjoy playing better teams even if I get my ass handed to me that night it's all part of the game it's not his fault the guy has skills at 35 next your going to say once you hit 40 he should stay home , if he pays he should play pro or not I always try my hardest evry game I play and at the end of it when he shake hands and he tells you great game that's a complment coming from a pro
so when you go home you can tell your kids that you played with the pros aswell .
Also please dont confuse team talent with lack of team discpline if the team starts a fight does it meen that the whole team did it or just a few bad apples .
Just my 2 cents

I am surprised by the number of responses on this topic. I must let the Ultra team know that in any rec leagues you play there will always be elite players. That also goes for any sport. Check out Hockey, Baseball or Football. I would sooner not play against your team, because you men on that day of the fight came to play hockey, without the skates. If you would like players over 35 who are ex pro out them you would be surprise how many guys in this league would be gone. There are a lot of us older guys in this league who have some kind of professional experience in their playing career. This gives this league more prestige. Do you honestly believe anyone would care to watch or participate if all you have in this league is a bunch of guys looking to show their wife and kids that daddy is getting some exercise? Our team has at least six players who has some sort of pro experience. A couple of us are already mid forties, so if you cannot run in an O35 league with a team with 1/3 of their players in their mid forties, stop blaming the team and start looking at yourself. Better yet, get more guys that are in their mid thirties and in better shape. Two of the past three championship we won went into overtime, and one went into a shootout. By the way, we win with the so called player, you are referring to. He has been injured a lot over the past two seasons and this season already. Don't insult us by saying we cannot win without him. We are a good team, and there are a lot of good teams in this division. Go out and get a couple of good players like all the other good teams do.

I think that the admin of the league needs to make a call. If the player is a active pro can he play? I don't see the problem with the guy playing.. :P . I look forward to the challange. The league needs to make the call one way or the other... and soon.

Let me help you all out. The man in question used to be a player/coach in the csl. He has since retired, so there is no need for the admin to make any call. Unless Ultra wants to find something else whine about where Brampton Chrysler is concerned. Lets put this to bed, and come out and play some quality football om Sunday. Not you Ultra.

Chill out Phurheus, its obvious you have anger issues, I was just pointing out a rule that exists about CURRENT pros playing recreational soccer, but if he is retired than its all good. I dont see how its fun for you guys to win easily every week...you should try out the 1st division, you might have fun...that's if you want a challenge. Maybe one day you'll be on the wrong side of a 10-1 loss to see how great it is. The Ultras will be back in the 35+ eventually, we're playing in the open league and having much more fun. Looking forward to meeting again....END of topic...Cheers [smilie=ahgg_beer.gif]
